GENERAL NEWS:  Athletic director Bubba Cunningham is mulling upgrades to Fetzer Field and the Smith Center and discussed those ideas and more in a year-in-review interview with the Associated Press.

BASEBALL:  Last Tuesday afternoon, the Tar Heels eliminated LSU, 4-2, in their second College World Series contest in Omaha ... On Thursday, Carolina stayed alive with a win over NC State that eliminated the Wolfpack ... UNC's run came to an end on Friday night with a 4-1 loss to UCLA.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:  Head coach Sylvia Hatchell's blueberry patch is open for business in 2013, with proceeds going to UNC's Lineberger Cancer Center.

ROWING:  Four Tar Heels were named to the All-ACC Academic squad.

SOFTBALL:  The Carolina team posted an impressive spring semester in the classroom.

SWIMMING & DIVING:  GoHeels TV posted part two of its summer conversation with head coach Rich DeSelm ... Meanwhile, DeSelm added 10 newcomers to his recruiting class.

TRACK & FIELD:  A number of current and former Tar Heels took part in the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, over the weekend.
