WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:  Former Tar Heel All-America Ivory Latta joined Sylvia Hatchell's staff as an assistant coach.

FOOTBALL:  The annual Meet the Heels Day is set for Aug. 3 ... Eric Ebron is on the watch list for the Mackey Award ... Punter Tommy Hibbard is on the watch list for the Ray Guy Award ... Tre Boston and Kareem Martin are on the Nagurski Award watch list ... James Hurst is on the list for the Outland Trophy ... Larry Fedora will take part in a charity event in Raleigh on July 23.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE:  The 2013 World Cup began in Canada last week, and seven Tar Heels are playing for the U.S. and Canadian national teams ... Kara Cannizzaro is nominated for an ESPY award.

WOMEN'S SOCCER:  Crystal Dunn is a candidate for the ESPY award for top female college athlete.

SWIMMING & DIVING:  Stephanie Peacock checked in from the World University Games ... Peacock updated her World University Games diary later in the week and again on Friday ... Cari Blalock set a record on Friday ... Peacock broke the UNC 1500 meter freestyle record on Friday.
