BASEBALL:  Former Tar Heel star pitcher Rob Wooten got the call up to the major leagues this week.

MEN'S BASKETBALL:  Adam Lucas caught up with junior Luke Davis to discuss his rigorous training regimen ... Freshman forward Kennedy Meeks is shedding pounds and getting ready for the 2013-14 season.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL:  Former Tar Heel great and new UNC assistant coach Ivory Latta earned a spot on the WNBA All-Star team ... Pairings were announced for next season's Cancun Challenge ... Head coach Sylvia Hatchell was honored in Gastonia, her home town.

FIELD HOCKEY:  Two Tar Heels are ready for the Junior World Cup.

FOOTBALL:  The media picked Carolina third in the coastal division in the preseason All-ACC poll ... Four Tar Heels grabbed spots on the preseason All-ACC team ... Turner Walston gave us his take on head coach Larry Fedora at the ACC Kickoff.

MEN'S LACROSSE:  Four Tar Heels are in the pool for the U.S. National Team.

MEN'S SOCCER:  Former Tar Heel Corey Ashe grabbed a berth on the 2013 MLS All-Star roster.
