Durant leads Roughriders to Grey Cup
Though this is an update on Tar Heels in the NFL, it's a special occasion that warrants mentioning Tar Heels in the CFL. Former QB Darian Durant led the Saskatchewan Roughriders to a 45-23 victory in the 101st Grey Cup (Canada's equivalent of the Super Bowl).

Durant completed 17 of his 24 passes, threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns, and had seven rushes for 26 yards. Durant had guided the Roughriders to the Grey Cup on two other occasions and was finally able to claim the top prize.

"I appreciate the organization putting the players around me to get it done," Durant told the Regina Leader-Post. "That's why we are here. It's a team game and without my teammates this wouldn't have happened.''

Brown gets first pick of year
In the second quarter with the Titans tied 3-3 with the Raiders, Zach Brown used his instincts and speed to step in front of a pass and intercept it. That pick put the Titans at the 11-yard line, but the offense wasn't able to find the end zone. This is Brown's first interception of the year. He had three picks last year, two of which were returned for touchdowns.

Matchups to watch this week
Any game Gio Bernard plays is worth watching. Next week, he and the Bengals will take on the Chargers at 4:25. Brandon Tate and Cam Thomas will also be in this game.

Elsewhere in the league, Robert Quinn and the Rams will try to slow down Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers' read option.

Updates from former Heels
Robert Quinn continues to get closer to the top of the NFL sacks leaderboard. He added another sack to get him to 13 on the year, 1.5 behind Robert Mathis, the league leader. He also forced a fumble, which bumped up his league-leading total to six.

Bruce Carter has had to lead the Cowboys defense more with Sean Lee sidelined. He notched seven tackles in a tight win over the Giants.
