Carolina-Clemson Suspended Until Monday

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- The second game between No. 1 North Carolina and Clemson reached the third inning Sunday night before rain forced the postponement of the contest until 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

The Tar Heels hold a 2-0 lead over the Tigers with two outs in the top of the third inning after Carolina scored a pair of runs in the second inning.

Brian Holberton and Mike Zolk singled to open the second inning before Matt Roberts dropped down a safety squeeze bunt to score Holberton.

Two batters later, Landon Lassiter sent a double inside the third base bag and into left field to score Zolk and give Benton Moss a 2-0 lead.

Moss had struck out six batters through his 2.2 innings of work before rain forced a delay at 7:54 p.m.

The contest will resume with two outs in the third inning Monday afternoon before the finale takes place at 6 p.m. The third game of the series will be shown live on ESPNU.

Gates will open at 2 p.m. for the resumption of game two and admission will be free of charge. The stadium will be cleared between games two and three and tickets will be required for game three.
