UNC Set For Spring Game & Uniform Unveil

Chapel Hill, N.C. - North Carolina will hold its annual Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 13, at 3 p.m. at Kenan Stadium.  Several events and activities are planned around the Spring Game, including the unveiling of Carolina's new uniforms.  Admission is free to all events on April 13.

"It's going to be a fun day for our fans and for our players," said head coach Larry Fedora.  "I want the guys to have a good time, play hard and fly around the ball.  I think our fans will enjoy the activities planned around the spring game and we look forward to giving them a glimpse of the uniforms for next season."

The Bell Tower Park adjacent to Kenan Football Center kicks off the day's events at 11 a.m. and features live music from GrooveTown, the premier do it all, play it all party band.  Food vendors merchandise tents and interactive games will be set up in the park.

Carolina's new blue and white football uniforms will be on display outside the Kenan Football Center for fans to experience and photograph.  At halftime, several players will model the new uniforms on the field, entering the stadium through a smoke-filled tunnel.

Carolina players will be available for autographs for one hour beginning at 12:45 p.m. near Gate 3.

The Tar Heels will play a four-quarter game with a normal clock in the first half and a running clock in the second. The coaching staff determined the teams earlier this week. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3.com.

During the first quarter, Giovani Bernard will be honored by the College Football Performance Awards as the nation's top punt returner in 2012. Bernard averaged 16.4 yards per return and had two touchdowns, including a game-winning 74-yarder vs. NC State.  Bernard rushed for 2,481 yards and 25 touchdowns during his career in Chapel Hill and is expected to be among the top running backs selected in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Recently retired All-Pro NFL center Jeff Saturday will be recognized in the third quarter for his accomplishments during his 14-year professional career.  Saturday was a two-time All-ACC performer at Carolina in 1996-97.
