UNC Boasts Three Freshman All-Americas

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The trio of Skye Bolt, Landon Lassiter and Trent Thornton notched their second Freshman All-America honors of the year on Monday as they were named to the NCBWA Freshman All-America First Team.

Carolina led the way with three Freshman All-America picks and all three earned first team honors.

Lassiter owns a team-best .502 on base percentage for the year as he has appeared in 64 games with 62 starts, primarily as the starting designated hitter.

Bolt missed 17 games in the middle of the year due to injury but has turned in a .335 average with 50 RBIs and 10 stolen bases.

Thornton has been Carolina's top reliever all season long as he boasts a team-low 1.24 ERA in 80 innings of work.

All three newcomers also earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors a week ago.
